March 31st/65
Dearest Friend
I am now seated for the purpose of writing another short note as we have no other way at present to converse with each other.
I am still found in good health and enjoing my self as well as possible but of course you are well aware that that is nothing to what I could if I was onley considerable nearer Home there is no place lik home as the old saying is my love to you
Mary you will see by this that I am not where I was the last time I wrote. / I am here as Mecanick came to learn the trade and worked 3 or 4 days and got a chance to get in head cook So I took the chance. I get $73 per month and bulley rations have bread & butter fresh beef & potatoes, both beef & pork. Pies once a day and lots of other things. So you see I am verry well satisfied at present I believe I answerd your last L which I recieved dated 11th of this month. well I cant write much now for I have got to stop and mak biscuit for supper. I mearly wrote this time to send my adress and let you know that I am / doing better than I was before. I think you've done well in staying to home since you returned from your Journey.
I forgot to send the letter before but will now.
Give Well Wishes to all
and My love for
Yourself.
Ever Yours
Ephraim E Brown
