Beloved Wife
I felt sadly disappointed this morning in not getting a line from you. But it is not your fault perhapse. I long to learn how you are getting along. We have not got our pay yet, but I hope it will not be long. We have the promise of it this week. I know you are needing your Greenbacks. Be patient / until they come, for I cant hurry them up any.
I feel so lonely since I came back no Jibby to kiss no Ma to caress no Manda nor Jack to talk to. But I will try and do the best I can will you do the same and remember me. It is cold & cloudy and O! tis so gloomy wish the sun would shine or something would cheer me up a little. Was over the river yesterday (Sunday) a little while all were glad to see me. they want me to preach on / Thanksgiveing Day but I cant see it. Please excuse a short letter this one time Nan Esther Warren writes that all are well. Complains of you for not writing Tell Amanda to write to her. Please Manda spread it on once
