Augustus B. Farnham to Daniel Marston, 29 July 1863
Rappahannock Station Va. July 29/63
Capt. Daniel Marston
Dr. Sir—
Your letter dated the 25th inst. has been recd. In reply to your request I would say that Adjt. Small Capt. Fennell & Capt. Conley left here the 25th inst. for Maine for the purpose of bringing out conscripts. I rejoined the Regt. on the 25th & found they had already been detailed. In regard to your books & papers it will be impossible to send them as they are needed here to enable the officer in charge of your company to make his returns.
I remain yours &c
A. B. Farnham
Lt. Col. 16th Maine
