My Own Dear Jennie,
I arrived here all right this morning at Five Oclock—the boat leaves at 4-30 for Fortress Monroe—shall get there tomorrow morning. Andrew Genny did not come he telegraphed me that he was unwell—I am in great expectations / of getting a post. If so why I think we will be slightly gay this winter. I hear of changes being made at Newburn—I am first rate so far—love to Father & Mother & with all the rest to yourself, I am as ever
