Dear Uncle
                        I received your papers and Annas letter to day and was glad to hear from you I have not ben very well since the day of the battle but worked all the time till yesterday I can not eat any thing and the chills are no strangers I have not much to write I expect that we shall go north with some of the prisoners you must not find fault with my writing for I am not carry a steady hand I sent a little box of shells to Ann to day left at the grove wine mill in the care of Philip Moen I sent it by Cor C A Curtis he went the same time as HB do not borrow any trouble about me I shall be all right in a day or two I cant write any more good by till next time
