Dear Aunt
                        I have moved once more and thought that I would write a few lines to pass time away I came here sunday but have not had any thing done for me yet we have a nurse that aint a man she is No 1 in the ward and the ward master is 2 in command then there is 6 more in attendance that makes quite a crowd of young ladys you know the nurse is from N york city she is very kind in her own way there is plenty of visitors here every day take us boys after we have been away from home so long and have not seen a woman for six months hardly know how one looks and much less what they are when I came here I hardly knew whether they was women or something else but I can guess all about it they are giving discharges every day and furloughs every thing is doing fine here but I cant enjoy much of it for I have been abed all the time since I was here only to have my bed made for I have now got my old pain of lege yet I guess I shall come out / all right yet but I may be cripple though but I cant help it if I am I should like to here from you [?] uncle just now for I want to know what is going on there now I dont suppose I shall get your letters if you direct them to the Regt for if they get there they wont send them back they have gone to Fortress Monroe they are going to knock the 21st all to pieces they cant muster two hundred men fit for duty of any kind now when I left they likely had 92 men to do every thing with I cant write any more now I must close hoping this will find you in good health with my love to all &c…
