So they must think that by that time the army will be sent home some of our men offer to bet we will be in Ohio in 4 weeks I wont bet we may be but I think not I see there is an order from the secretary of war to discharge all troups in hospitals that dont nead medical attendance that will be done imediatily I dont think we will ever get in any more battles that is some consolation but if we are not neaded I would like to go home I expect I could get leave to come home for 20 days but it wont pay now as I would have to pay full fare it would cost 50 Dollars I will wait a short time then it wont cost me much to come and you and I can spend that 50 together on the cars well this is sunday I have just put on my new shirt and new suit my shoes is rusty I am going to the Sutler and get som blacking and black my shoes rite shiney
Oh I believe I did not tell you Col Mc brought his boy along he has him dressed in officers uniform he is verry sausy boy he talks as sausy as his Dad and this place will not make him any better yesterday Mc brought a little girl here about his size a verry prety little girl some rich old codgers daughter and got hur on a horse and his little Bil and went out riding I thought it a little soft the girl was dresst verry fine and was a good rider then Billy had to take her home and bring back her horse she had lots brass as all the females have in the south I dont think much of any of them here this Confederacy is one vast Whore house if there was a roof over it all well I think this will do if you can read this you can do more than I can I cant make it all out myself write verry often they can come now in 3 days I must beg some more stamps as I have no money and only one 3 ct stamp I must try and borrow until I can make a raise no more but remain yours truely
