I cant engrave it as I have no tools for that purpose you can get it done for a dime such rings are worth $1.50 here but my silver is all but small pieces these I cant use unles they were melted again
I forgot to say lots of our Regiment are getting furlows now for 20 days one of my mess started last friday he goes to Illinois his name is Bressler he would went to Bucyrus if his furlow would of been 24 days I wont try before next spring but I hope the next will be to stay home
has Dan goan to Indiana or where he wont write to me nor any of them But M.E. Boyer if you want a secret receit I can get one by sending 2 stamps to St. Louis /
I got a lots of adverticements and a small slip saying for 2 stamps he will send it something similar to the one Dan got of us any thing i can send from this Confederacy you want I will gladly do so and I will call on you afterwhile for a hat and another shirt this shirt is so nice to wash to what US shirts are and a hat dont cost but 5 cents to send by mail they are so light thes US hats are heavy and hot for summer I believe I will close as this is my cook day and I have beans and poark over for dinner and we just now got some fresh nice light bread we are to have 3 days bread the next 5 and only 2 hardtack no more now Goodby I will write in a few days again
