Andrew J. Corliss
Andrew J. Corliss was born around 1839 in Marshfield, Vermont, to Leander Corliss. His father was a laborer who owned $800 of real estate in 1850. Corliss attended school in Marshfield, and he married Agnes Batchelder on November 11, 1862. They had at least two children: James, born around 1863; and Alice, born around 1867. The family settled in Caledonia County, Vermont, and Corliss worked as a farm laborer. Sometime between 1880 and 1900, the family moved to Cabot, Vermont, where Corliss operated a dairy farm. He died in Marshfield on July 19, 1928.
