Camp Harker Tenn
June 7th 1865
Dear wife this evening I will write again to you I am well and doing the best I can but it is so terable hot the few last days but now I think we will get a shower tonight well I just got a letter from you wrote the 1st and mailed the 5th so it came through in less than 3 days and I must answer all I get
well Mam we are working our best I have my musterout roals done or will be tonight and if all the Companyes could get done tonight we would be mustered out tomorrow but we wont all get ready so I dont think we will be mustered out before Saturday or Monday we expect to start for Ohio next week some time we are releaved from duty now so just as soon as our papers are ready we will go I have most of the discharges made out for my men it takes a big lot of writeing I dont kno where our recruits are to go yet there was some talk that they was agoing to send me and a Capt with them as a detachment / but it is all talk and no cider as there is no order for that the Capt of my Co was here yesterday from town he told me that he thought the recruits would be sent home along but if they should detach me I will resine as soon as I can get about one or 2 hundread Dollars from US but I dont fear they want any more officers well I am glad you report all well I dont kno how long we will stay at Cleveland I think by the orders to the paymasters that they intend to get us home in 2 or 3 days after we reach there but it will take some time we must turn over our guns and camp and garrison stuf it may take a week I can tell better after we get there and if we can tell the time near I will let you kno whether to come and when well I will close for tonight and finish in time to mail this tomorow at nine
8th this morning I will finish I have my papers all ready or will in one hour more we will all be done today I heard Kirby said last night we would be in Cleveland by Saturday next one week but I hear the Veterns are going to the South all I want is to not take me there is no sines of it / yet well if they do gust let them rip
well Jef has not got here yet as I can hear some of Wilsons Cav came yesterday to Nashville I must stop a while well it is about mail time I must close my rolls are done and goan to the mustering Officer for inspection if all right we are about done except some discharges and a little book posting yet well it is getting verry hot no rain last night well if we get to Cleveland next week I will write that is if I git along and I think we will go through Crestline it will be tempting to go so near home and not stop but then it is only a few days until we will get back
well I gues you can write another letter to the 101st yet after you get this no more now
