Dear Mother
I arrived at the Reg. this morning about 12 OClock and found them in good condition. We had quite a time finding the Regiment as they have been moving all this week and no one could tell us where to find them. all that we could hear that the 2ond corps were in front supporting the cavalry. we stoped at Culpepper Court House thursday afternoon and night the people only chare one dollar ($1.00) per meal and 25 cts for lodging very expensive living more then Willard / or the continentail charge. I saw John as we come down along the rail road. I did not get an oppertunity too speak to him but Tom did. He was well. That money Grank put in a letter I never found untill I got too the Regiment for she put it in my valise also the feathers to make Jennie a hat. You will have to take some of that money I left home and replace it. tell Father to get post for the house and send me the bill and I will settle with him for the fence
Grover has gone out on picket with the Regiment
My love to all inquiring friends I remain your Affectionate Son
