Alfred Henry Satterlee

Alfred Henry Satterlee was born in New York on September 25, 1835, to John K. Satterlee to Eliza Diggins.  His father died around 1848. The family lived in Brooklyn, New York, and by 1860, Satterlee was working as a clerk. He enlisted in the Union military in 1862, serving as a 2nd lieutenant in the 23 Regiment, New York National Guard. After his brief military service, he resumed his work as a clerk. He died in New York on December 31, 1864.
