Dear wife I just recieved your letter and was vary glad to hear from you and to hear that all of you are well as for my health it is about the same but I am sory to hear that Ella has so many biles for I now tha are sore things but not to compare with some of our wonded soldiers our rigiment has ben in afight and some of them have ben killed but one that you know that was Henry Benson but Will Benson Ben Benson David Mcgugin Martin Brown G Dones Th Williams John Mccord Charles Lockwood Sargent Guthery Captain Mesnard and Rece are all of our company and tha had a hard time but tha drove the rebs the last we hurd from them
wife I supose you found in the last letter that I had expresed one hundred and ten dollars and you have I supose got it before this time if you haint you had better look to it I told you before that I did not git my bounty this time so it made me short 40 dollars and I sent all home but 7 and I guess I have sent myself short if I want any money I will let you know and you must send me sum but mabe I shant want it if I git chance to earn sum then I am all rite now I want you to git you and Ella some close and the rest of the familey for Ella must have good close and so must you for if I should hapen to come home on afirlow I should scond I dreemed last night that you was mixing biscut and we got on a spree and you stuffed one in my shirt collar and I took it out and bahed so look out I am coming to eat them some time
I am much ablige to you for them soots and will be more so when I git them pictures you must direct your letters to U.S. genrel Hospitle ward C be sure and direct vary plain I dont now as thare is any more news to write how is Poe tell him he must rite to me and I dont see why Hill dont rite to me tell John Davy to write to me and I will write to him I send my love to him and his familey and hope tha are all well and Ellick mcintyre to let me now how much money Mowny has got for I would like to keep my wages good if I can but thare aint much of any thing that I can do to earn any thing at ring making has plaid out the ward master wont let me make any more but tell daniel to send me a two shilling peace if he can
Now I send my love to all of you oh I hope you will have good luck and git your wood so good by for this time may God bless you all this is from your husband
