Dear Jinnie                                       
                        I received a letter from Ma and was glad to here that all was well and As I had time conclued to right you a few more lines we have heard grate nuse this eavning it is that we tuck at Richmon 70.000 yankes prisners is not that glouris nuse I am in hopes that Peace will be made soon Tell ma that I will answered her letter nex week and give her all the nuse our company is out on picket to day and it will come in to morrow at ten o'clock Robert is well at presant and I hope that we will both remain so.
