Biddeford: Oct. 1st 1861.
I have jest made
a large blot please
excuse it as I am to tired
to write another
Dear Doctor Cullis,
Your letter was received in due time also a little book through the Office I have read it many times with pleasure and much thought of the future. I desire to become a Christian & most earnestly pray that my sins may be forgiven.
My lungs are somewhat relieved of the tightness but do not feel natural my chest aches and feels weak with horseness at night & in damp weather cannot [ink blot] much without fatigue my voice trembles cough seldom but dry. The only way I can discribe is, it is an acheing pressure. I have a good appetite sleep quite well and gain strength every day. / The discharge is white and thin about the same as formerly. I do not go out of doors only when the wind is fair. I can go to Effingham but not conveniently. Charlies Father has hired a house in Roxbury on Lambert St. a pleasant location. Josie & myself think of returning to Roxbury and board with Mrs Jordan, the last of this month. Charlie sends his regards & shall write as soon as he has time. please accept my thanks regards Josie's also and believe me yours
respectfully
