Friends at Home
We quartered in the school House at Mt. Union, untill Wednesday night we got on board the cars at 11 Oclock got to this place at 2½ AM stayed in the cars unto daylight marched out to camp Curtin quartered in the tent of the U.S. Christian Commission in which they hold religious services 3 times a day—distribute books, tracts, newspapers, stationary &c. it is a large canvass, erected like a circus tent Yesterday we were mustered into sevice to day we expect to be moved across the river to Camp Couch—get uniformed & equiped. if we do, I will send my cloths either to Mt Union or Chambersbg as seems best. The company is not quite full yet—The chaplain is just now reproving a man for swearing in the "tabernacle" he can do it well—yesterday he reproved one for drinking liqor in / the "Church." We have not elected any officers except the Capt & first Lieut. Will Skinner—think Capt Sam is the man for the buisiness. Young Hosler from Loudon is fishing for the 2nd Lieut. but think he is too short—is a little like some more of the Loudon people—got drunk at Mt Union G Furgeson of Dry Run stands a good chance Quill is still along and is getting along pretty well Will Witherow is rearing around like a colt is straped already wants to do like Chase borrow money. our fellows are about moving & I must stop will write soon again Cant tell you where to direct us to we get put into a Reg.

                                                                        Yours &c.
