Hamburg landing Tennessee
Dear father a few lines to you this morning. we landed at this place on yesterday morning we are 18 miles from the mane army tha are a fighting a little every day but havent brought on an genral ingagement yet. we will be marched out to the line to day or to morrow. I expect thare will be Bloody times before this fight is over thare is a bout / 300.000 200000 men on each side. well I havent time this morning to write very much if I get through this fight safe I will write to you as soon as the show is over. I received your letter a few days since and and was truley glad to hear from home once more tell the rest of the folks to write to me as often as tha can for I havent no chance to write give my respects to all of the friends write often without fail
