New Baltimor V.A. Nov  ^th 1862

 

            Dear Brother

                                    I received you letter of the 27^th of Oct in doe time but have bin unable to answer it until the presant. And have not time to wright much or give you the particular news of the day yet, for we have bin on the march for the laste two weeks and am still on the march in persute of the enemy but we do not finde them in aney very large force we have had light schrimishing ever cince we crosed the Potomac but have had no difficultie in driving them with littel / loss. We are now at a place called New Baltimor about seven miles from Warrington but still pushing on in the direction of Richmond excuse the shortness of this letter and for not wrighting befor for it has bin imposable for me to do so, and a nother thing I have not got any postage stampes and it is imposable to get them hear so you muste excuse me for sending this without one. I have got out of money for we have not bin payed in nearley five mounths or I woulde send home and get them, but we expecte to get our money this mounth some time 

 

it has bin quite colde hear for the laste fiew days and we have had quite a snow storme I do not know weather we will goe into winter quarters or not this winter. I am well at presant and in good sperits and hope this will finde you all the same I will close with my beste respects to you all nothing mor but remain as ever your Brother and well wisher
