Dear Miss
Excuse the liberty I take in addressing you this short epistle. It will unfold to you and family painful inteligence. By the dispensation of a kind Providence your Brother Mr A. W. Avery was on yesterday near 11 Oclock removed from this evil & wicked world to a land of Spirits
He was sent to this Hospital some 5 days since suffering with Pneumonia. Yesterday 26th he departed this life and I hope has entered a better state. he had all the attendance that could be given him from the attendants of the hospital and from the Ladies (God Bless them) sweeat messengers in time of affliction they [?] to his wants as far as in their power to aleviate his sufferings. we will bury him decently today and marke his last resting place.
