                                                                                                            Dear Father and Mother I seat my self to drop you some fiew Lines to infor you that I am well at the presant time and I truley wish that those fiew Lines may come saft to hand find you Both well. I can say to you that we have got orders to march in the morning we are just a goin to change camps. it is genarly though that Pease will be made soon as posobel and I hope it will be made by the first of May next if it is you may look fore me soon afterwardes Becase I am getting tyard of war. I can say to you that we dont get enuff to eat heare We get one pound of flower to the man per day and one pound of Beef and it is so pore we cant get gress to greas our shoos [paper hole] weare our shose without greese But the yankes are suffern as well as us And I beleave we can whip them in 3 more monts I can say to you that there was a man shot heare yeastardy he dezerted 3 times in tim of Battel and he was shot yeastarday there was twelve men detald to shoot him tha stood about 5 stepes from him and shot every ball thru him he belong to the 6 N.C. Regt. Compy D. it was anoffel site to see our sou Southern solgiers in that way / So I will clos my letter Write as soon as posebel
