Dear Sister I have just seated my self to answer your kind letter wich I receive this morning I receive to of your letters this morning and read them with gratitude they found me well and reasonable well sadisfied the boys is all well they have the go ahead fever as well as my self a good fight would do us all good and be fore long I expect we get one as soon as there is force enough we will try Columbus a pull the fight at boiling gren was in to days paper but it is not all credit for all though / the rebels run I do not think there was as many killed as reported I send yesterdays paper to Wm Shell this maile tel him to read it but do not credit the piece that says the G Wis cross over to ft N[?] for they did not but they wer orderd over I would rather be there than her this place is to sickly for me but I do not think we will stay her long we ar in good barracks the weather is warm and nice we have not drill any since we we came to this place tel wm Daily if the boys wer back there they would make the girls stand around for all the dogs of the first class ar gone tel Wm Sibaug to write to me and I will answer the same
Give my love to Father & Mother tell all the Girls for me that I wish them well excuse my poor writing
