Asa M. Weston to Friends, 16 October 1862
Crab Orchard Ky
Oct 16th 1862
Dear Friends,
I have a chance to send this note by private conveyance to Cincinnati. It is the last chance I shall have as I have lost paper & every thing in the battle of Perryville in which I was engaged but escaped. Write often though you dont hear address Co. K 50th O Regt 34th Brigade 10th Division Army of Ky be careful & give that direction without sending to any particular place. We are following Bragg towards Cumberland gap marching every day. I am well but am about starved & my stomach loathes all the food they give me
have no stamps
Write soon your letters will reach me if mine dont you
Remember me to friends dont be concerned about my safety if you dont hear Tell friends to write Yours truly
