Edward C. Beazley

Edward C. Beazley was born around 1815 in South Carolina to Edmund Beazley. He probably moved to Alabama sometime in the 1830s. He married Melissa E. Davis in Sumter County, Alabama, on October 20, 1837, and their daughter Margaret was born around 1839. Beazley moved to the Republic of Texas by 1841. His wife died by the early 1840s, and he married Mary Ann Arnet in Harrison County, Texas, on February 1, 1844. They had at least five children: B. F., born around 1845; M. J., born around 1847; E. C., born around 1850; J. W., born around 1853; and L. J., born around 1855. Beazley became a clerk by 1850. That year, he owned $1,300 in real estate and at least one enslaved laborer. A decade later, he owned $1,500 in real estate and $1,000 in personal property. He died sometime after 1860.
