My Dear wife I will drop you a few lins wich will inform you that I have got the chils an fevor an I am not well but I hope this may find you all in the best of health I have nothing new to write only we are lookeing for a fight every day we sent over a flag of truce to the yankees at Jacksonvill to no if tha ware going to give it up or not an if tha did not we ware to atact them but I have not herd there repli My dear this is the seventh letter that I have wrote an I have got no ancer from none of them I got the one that you wrote a day or too after I left / you must Be shure and write for I never wanted to heare from home as bad in my life an when you write write all the news give my respects to all of the famley an my love to you Most dear when you write let me no if you Babe an hester got the money that I sent to you give my respects to youre Pa an Ma I had fergot I have a little news our Brig is orderd to Richmond Va. but tha are looking so strong for a fight heare untell we will not go yet a while I will close by saying I remain youre loveing husband an Jefs.
