Cousin Arthur
According to agreement I now stand up "for I have nothing to sit on" to write you a few lines. I am well and hearty. We arrived here the day I left you and we are now quarterd in an old shop we have got stoves in it now so we manage to keep comfortible. But to tell the truth I was pretty lonesome and homesick yesterday but I shall soon git over that I hope. We are kept pretty close with a strong guard on. I am on guard to day. We do not know how long we shall stay here, some think we will stay till after Election but none of us know
If there is eny to go home again I think I stand a good chance. I shall try to come next week if we stay here. the boys are making such a noise that I cannot write so I will close Give my respects to all the friends and dond forget to write to
