Sir your Favor of the 9th is at hand and it is of the greatest pleasure that I sit down to address a few lines in answer we are all well have got moved but have not got hardley settled yet the weather here now is pretty rainy mixed with some snow we have had some verry pleasant warm weather Mrs Lathrop is sewing on her Machine the girls have gone to Plymouth to make a visit and get warm Sugar as soon as they return they will write to you they have ben a wondering why Dwight did not write
the news come here last Fryday that the 14th Battery was taken prisioners but we dont believe the report. there is no news at present only one thing that has got up any excitement in this place at present only a Law Suit that Luther Noys and a hired girl had and H. G. Shipman was the Lawyer for the Plaintiff and as a matter of course he got his / case and Mr Noys had the girl to pay and the cost also—
Now Dwight take good care of yourself and as much as possible shunn all bad habits and may the Lord bless you and return you safe to your friends safe and sound
