Dear Friend
                        We received your No 6 two or three weeks ago and have not heard from you since but hope you are well we are as well as usal I am going to school now Frankie and Manerva and Martin go too. Mrs Pierce had news that Arther was wounded but they dont know how bad badly.
 
I can comply with your request this week by not writing of any weddings but from the appearances of things I should think that there was several ingagement among the young fry. we have not got thoes / presants yet we hope and expect they are your Photograps Emma has given up going to school this winter Mother needed her help to home. there has not ben any deaths since we wrote to you last I believe it is very good sleighing here now and we have fine times at school drawing sled and sliding but I dont know but you would like to look in and see the family to comence with father sits in the rocking chair rocking singing the baby to sleep and Eddie sits curled up in a chair waiting to go to bed. Mother is in the corner spining and Emma and I are sitting to the table writing to a sertain young / Gentleman there now father has wrote sung baby and himself himself both to sleep now dont you think that is a pretty good picture but it is after nine oclock and I must stop writing your Friend
