[poem pasted on inside back board]
Our Country's Call.

Our country is calling her sons to the field,
Their ballots shall witness the strength that they wield;
The hopes of McClellan and treason are strong;
Come forth from you labors and battle the wrong.

Free, stalwart, and steady, New England is true,
And the sons of brave fathers nor feeble nor few,
Rise peerless in valor, rise matchless in might,
Stand firm with the legions who strike for the right.

Honest Abe is our leader, both faithful and tried;
Andy Johnson is ready and stands by his side;
Take this as your banner, and marshal your band,
For "traitors" and "cowards" the White House demand.

Brave hearts of the North, and the East and the West,
The foe is before us, we cannot know rest,
'Till the minions of wrong and the traitors in dust
Yield the sword to the plough, and the spear to the rust.

Then shame to the cravens who clamor for peace,
Their hearts shall grow faint as their clamors increase;
The ides of November shall fill them with gloom,
And the votes of the loyal establish their doom.
