My Dear Husband
This is a beautiful sunday morning and every thing looks so pleasant out that I can hardy content myself to stay in the house As soon as the baby wakes I am going to take her and go out in the field to see our garden. she is awake now and I will have to stop and take her up. I will write about the garden and field when I come back. I have come back from the garden. Every thing is growing nicely but the hungrian grass is coming up so thick all over every thing in the garden that I expect it will be very / hard to tend Harv got done planting last friday all except that strip in the slough. he is ploughing that today and is going to plant it tomorrow. I sent the baby's picture to town last thursday but I dont expect that Gardiner will start before I mail this letter. After I got Olly's picture, there was a woman come in with three little boys, she said that she wanted their pictures to send to their father who was in the army and had been in two years. How I wished that your time was so near out as that. but I expect if it was one year would seem longer than two do now. I know that two years seem longer now than three did at first Meda was over here friday and / staid all day. Harv has gone to Flecks now to try to buy some calves. I am trying to write with Olly in my lap but she jumps so that I can hardly write I have been troubled with the tooth-ache for about a week I expect that I will have to get two teeth pulled before long. I was up to Pap's awhile ago and while I was gone the hogs caught and eat two of my little geese we had five that were over a week old. Harv has been offered $1.30 for the mules as soon as they are weand and says he knows if he wanted to sell them he could get $1.50 for them. Harv has got back but did not get the calves Fleck had sold them to Frank / Smedley for $3.50 apiece. Harv says that he expects to have to pay $4.00 apiece for all the calves he gets this summer
Pa and Ma have gone to Jefferson County. Pa went to get a new plough. He has to pay $40.00 for it. They wanted me to go with them but I would not go for fear you would come home and I would be gone. It is geting late and I must come to a close. I still remain
Your devoted wife
