Dear Rittey Ann I take my pen in hand to drop you a fiew lins to let you no that I am well as comon and I truley hope when those lins comes to hand tha will find you well and all doing well
 
well Rittey Ann I hav news to tell you we are Oarderd front or to Chatonoga we think we are shure to go If we live we will start to morrow morning we will a vackuate this place and then the rebels will hav the sway hear the boys is all well and in good hart Olde Jeff Davis and Cabinet has left Richmon and lee is still falling back in his forts I think that lee will cut his way out and get to Jo Jonson yet and make thare last and despert stand and then I think tha will give up the vetrens has all got back hear and Jack Wilkenson says he sent my over coat by Stan Coon to hand to mike Coon on the same day tha left Chillecothe it was the 16 I beleav rite and let me no whether he ever sent it and if he did not I will try to make him pay for it you said you hav got an anser from that man in St louis about that land Joshua hendrix wants 80 acors and I want the 40 acors that joins us let me no what he will ask an acor for it if we hav to pay over three dollars pur acor we had better not by it if the mare is the way you say If you can do with out her sell her for that prise /
 
            I will send 50 Dollars in this letter to you and let me no whether you hav heard his prise for that land and I will tell you in the next letter how to do rite as soon as you get this letter tell me no tell the children that I send my best respects to them and want them to remember me and dont consider your self slited I will now close soon direct your letters to Murfreesboro
