My Dear Wife it is with the gratest of pleasure that I seat my self on a nap sack to pen you a fiew lins to let you no that I am well to day and I truley hope when those lins comes to hand tha will find you all well and a doing well well I hav rote too letters to you sinc I left Saint louis I rote one at Mitchel larns Countey Ind and one the day before we started from louisville to come hear we got our pay the day before we left thare and I sent tweentey dollars to you I sent mine with Marion dean / he sent it to his Father and you can get it from him you pay your part of the exspress it thrue
 
we are all tolerbel well Our Companey has had good look tha all got hear safe helth in our Regt is vary good owing to the exsposure My sholdier is still on the mend well we dont no how long we will stay hear not many days tho som says we are oarderd to a town betweene hear and Chatenooga but I dont now whether wee will stop thare or not tho we will find a harde march and I exspect plentey of hard fiting to do this is what I look for before long this is our opinion at this time we dont no / whether we will see each other eney more in this life if we are not prepared to meete our God what a turebel thought it is the think of droping in to never ending torment Oh then let us try to meet our God and thare we will meete our dear Mothers and brothers and sisters Oh then let us try to meete thare with our sweete children Oh pray for mee and pray that I may return home to you and the children Oh may God help you and the children and bless you spare our livs so that we may live to see the end of this ware and then go to our homes in peec and peec and quiot may be over / hole land land and that the ware may speadely come to a close and the old flag may wave over the hole face of the land Oh may God helpus us and nearish us so that we may see that day well I must close by asking you to remember your husbon that lovs you and the children better then eney one on earth and I request your prairs fare well to all
