            Dear Sister
                                    one time more threw the mercies of god I am permited to drop you afew lines to let you now that I have landed back to camp and that I am well for which blessing I feel thankful to all mity god truly hopeing that these few lines may safely and in good time reach you and find you all well I got to camp the third day after I left home and found the boys all well but since I have ben here James has had the chills but I think that he will not have them any more to day is his day to have it and he ant got it yet John is well him and James and my self stays to gether I have not mutch of importance write as there has not any thing of not ocured since I left camp the weather is cool and windy for the time a year health is tolarbl good in camp now there is some chills in the neighbor hood we have had a letter from Jack he was tolarble well he had ben sick but he had got up a gane and we have had a letter from Cyntha She was well I must close as James wants to write some write often
 
So nomore I remain yours as ever

            Dear Sister I am one time more permitted to write to you to let you know how I am I am not very stout at this time and have not bin since abut the 20th feb I have the chills but I think I will not have any more I have bin taking medicen and to day is the day for me to have it and the time has past when I generaly have it. you spoke abut me not writing any I writ untill I get out of the notion you writing and then I stop and as for Mrs Baisley getting a letter evry week from me I guess that is a mistake with printer
 
tell Henry and Eve that if they wish to know any thing from me they had better write to me for I have set the last pen to write to them that I ever will untill they write to me for I have wrote sevral and have not got any I will not write much at this time So I wil come to a close by saying write soon to us at Catawissa franklin County Mo you need not put the regt nor Company on it
nothing more at this time only I remain

My Dear Wife i one more time take my pen in hand to drop you a fiew lins in ansor to your letter which i was glad to read i red it with pleasure and was glad to hear that you was all well and doing as well as you was you seamed to think strang of me a riting to you when i rote to no whether you was a going to keep them or not i onley wanted to no whether you thought you wold be able to tend to them or not this is what i ment you wanted me to let you no all a bout the bettey tale the old lady king rote to elic king that bettey had bin sick and she said it was no wonder for she had run a boute so mutch that it mite kill her, hur and others run to the post offic after Jeff Read and tha called hur the yallow stud hoars he wold not let me read the letter. dont say eneything a bout with out you find tha put you with hur. I will rite in a fiew days write soon and let me no how you are a getting a long the wind blose coald to day the grass is vary shoart and not mutch of that tell me all the news when you rite tell the children that i send my lov to them and want them to be good and learn thare books i must now close for this time fare well to all
