My Dear Wife I am a gane permitted to drop you a fiew lins in ansor to your letters which came to hande one last nite and one this morning the one that I got last nite January the 16th and the other December the 24th which I red them with pleasure I was glad to hear from you all glad to hear that you was all well as you was this leavs me well as comon and I truley hope when those lins come to hand tha will find you all well and doing well I dont hav mutch to rite a parte of our boys is goan out on a scout the Rebels run on a sitzon last nite and he / one of the Rebels and the others run and he came in just at day by me I was on picket and he repoarted what he had don and the Colonel sent out a scout parte of our Companey and part of Co B and a fiew of the butter milk and homeney melishia tha had to go 10 milds the rebels is comanded by Cartter and Mury
 
Capt Nash of Co B and Leutenant B. F. Wyatt Co C if I had not bin on garde I wold went with them you seemed to think that I did not send you letters every time I cold it has bin rite the other way
 
it has bin so or elc the letters has bin mis placed or you hav not rote others got letters and I did not / if you hav rote more then them three letters with the one dated the 16th of December 1863 I hav never got them you said not tell every buddey whear Mr lomax was we dont care for him he is like many others in the world he is but littel force
 
the boys is all well and in fine spirits
 
you spoke somthing a bout the Copper heds at prinston why dont you tell hoo tha are I wold like to no thare Capt name and what tha are doing the letters you rote never stated how deep the snow was or whether it was goan off or not well I will close for this time
