Well My Dear Compannion I take the present opportunity to send you a few lines in return of yours which I received last night;; truly glad to hear from you once more, your kind letter found me well. But some what fatiged after just returning from murfreesboro I wrote you a few lines while at Murfreesboro. I generally make it my business to write to you once every two weeks so if you do not get them it is not my falt
Well I hav a few words to add Perhapse will more than surprise you as I am not so good at guessing as I was when i was at home I would like for / you to explain your writing a little better. if you are afraid to trust me with your secrets dont tell a part and leave me to guess the balance so
If Ned Cooper is in a family way I would love to know

Now concerning the tax land I would love to hav the land, so you may pay the taxes and get a receipt for the same if you cant attend to it yourself get some body to attend to for you so be sure and get it
if you can get 1.00 dollars for the oxen take it. if you can get any more take it
I think you had better not trade the mare off for you might get cheated
