Dear Wife it is one more time that i am permited to drop you a fiew lins to let you no that i am well at this time and i truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you and the children well and doing well we are all well we was all on gard last nite down in the Citey i garded Jeneral Davis last nite we are the Citey Gards i mean our Regiment we are on gard every other nite we hav a grate many prisners to gard hear tho i had rether do that then to godown in dicksy at this time a year
 
i rote to you that wee was in Camp Jackson but tha hav changed the name to Camp Gambrel /
 
I rote to you a fiew days a go i rote to you that Alexander king and mee had traded he wanted to back out he said he cold get one hunderd and fortey doll Henery Mckern wanted the land i told Alic that we had i thought fare and i thought i aught to hav the land and then he said he wold lose 15 dollars on the but he said as long as he traded he wold not back out and i then rote to you to hav the dead made as soon as you can get it made Alic said henery Mckern made him pay one hunderd and twente five dollars for the land but we hav traded and i dont want eney hard thoughts and let it all pas i am satisfied a bout the trade i wold not take 2,00 dollars for it /

            I want you to keepe in good hart and take good care of your self i think i will liv to see you a gane tell the children i want to see them mitey bad but oh i dont now when i will get to come to see you all but if i never see you eney more in this world i want us to liv so when wee come to die wee can lay our bodis down to rest and meete in that brite world of Etearnel Glory oh thare wee will hav joy and pleasure for ever and ever i must close for this time fare well
