My Dear Wife it is one time more that i am permited to take my pen in hand to drop you a fiew lins to let you no that i am tolerble well at this time and i truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you all well and doing well i was glad to hear that little Jacob was better i hope he will be well when you get this I hav left the trusel work and i am at Mozell now i will tell you one thing i heard that our Colonel has rsind / and old Morton was our Colonel and Capt broun was the lutenant Colonel and Adgutent Easley the magor and then we will hav a set coundrels in offic over us i dont no what tha will do with us som thinks we will be moved to St Louis for City gards i dont no whear we will go to when we leav hear the boys is generly well all but Wiley Yong he is vary bad i dont think he can liv but fiew days he has the hed deseas and bin spechles ever sinc nite before last / I am with James to day he is tolerble well
 
Rittey Ann i sent eightty dollars to you by Wm Serat and i want to no whether you hav got it or not i want you to rite as soon as you get this letter i rote one letter be fore i giv him the money and stated i wold send som by him and i sent one with the money and the same day he started i rote another and started it by male to you and the first letter that i sent i sent you a nice ring in it and pleas let me no whether you got the / money and ring or not tell the children that i hav not for got them and tell them i send my lov to them and i think i will get home som time to se you all i must close for a while fare well write soon and often
