My Dear Wife I a am permitted this eavning seat my self to drop you a fiew lins to let you no that I am tolerbel well and I truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you and the children well and doing well I recived a letter from you datted the 18 which I ansord the next morning you said you had not got that money that I sent you by Robert bool and you stated that you had gave Andrew Ridenour too dollars as I told you to do in that letter but you did / not say whether you had got them close that I sent you or not and if you had got them you did not say in your letter how mutch the box coast if you now pleas let me no so that the boys can pay me thare part I exspect that this letter is all that you nead to ansor untill you see mee tho if I dont get to come as soon as I exspect to I will rite and let you no I will rite a nother letter to you the last of this weeke or the first of next
 
Our boys is generely well and in fine sperits som thinks the ware will be over in three months tho I dont think that tho I think we will / be at home together to liv with our littel children after while if we hav good luck I hope the time will soon come when the ware will ende so we can get home to helpe other rase our littel children Oh if I cold get home to stay with you I think I wold be so hapey no tong cold exspress tho I will be glad to get to come to see you and the children if I can get to see your faces one time more it will be some pleasure to mee well I must close this letter will starte out in the morning

well I will ad a nother thought or too it is now nite and I am a riting by candel lite a setting in my tent on my plase that I sleap on I will mention we hav glorious news this eavning old John Morgan the Rebel that took the rade thru ind he is took prisner and all of his men him and his staf was sent Indenaples Ind and a large potion of his men too with him. well you now this my hart regois with in mee oh I thank God that we are a getting a long so well. I think one more year the Rebel dom will be plade out at the longest and I think sooner if wee hav good luck I must close so fare well
