My Dear Wife I agane am permited to drop you a fiew lins in ansor to your letter which come to hand the day before yesterday which i red with pleasure I was glad to hear from you and the children glad to hear that you was all well and doing as well as you was. i am in tolerble good helth at this time and I truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you and the children well and doing well
helth is good in our Companey as fare as i no you wanted me to let you no whether i was willing for you to buy a saddle i am / willing for you to by one but if you get one and pay for it now i am a frade it will spoil kings trade and mine and you now that i want the land i onder stod that henery Mckern wanted the land and you now wee nead that peece of land and wee must hav it if i can get it i hav 40 nine dollars with me now and i am just a wating for an ansor from you an Elic is a wating for ansor from his father and then wee trade i wld not miss getting the land for too hunderd dollars / Cant you by Miss Sinks saddle or som one that you can get cheap i want to make the first pay ment on the land and then i hav untill Christmas to pay the balenc and then we will hav one hunderd achors of land you said you wanted mee to let you now whare i wanted you to direct your letters too i dont now where because the Regiment is all moved but our Co and wee are a wating for the cars to com to take us off i hav onder stood that tha had goan to Camp Jackson at St Louis / I think wee will now to day when wee will go
Rittey Ann i want you to take good care of your self and the children tell them houdey for mee tell them to take good care of thare lettle coalt and tell Jacob to feed the pigs and make them fat i must now close for this time write and direct your letter to pacific City
