Dear wife and children it is thrue the tender merce of our hevenly father that I am permitted to drop you a fiew lins to let you no that I am well at this time and I truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you all well and doing well we hav good nuse to rite to you our boys has com back Marion and Wm baker is hear and is well the boys has had a harde time down South and all of our boys is well but too or three tha hav the mumps James is well Mr harper is well and Norman king is well / and John and Elac is well Abreham Cox is in the house pittel sick I hav rote one letter since we come here Rittey Ann I sent som things by Robert Williams and a letter and a new pen and penholder and I want you to rite whether you got them or not
