My Dear Wife I am a gane blest with the pleasure of droping you a fiew lins to you no that I am mending yet I hav not bin on dutey and dont no when I will be abel to dutey eney ware then a round the Camp I pul watter some and I truley hope when those lins comes to hand tha will find you all well and doing well well Rittey Ann I rote to the next day after I got to Rolla I said the boys was well and tha are all well now we got our pay and I will send it / to you I will send thirtey dollars to you by John W. Smith he amed to start home the day be fore yestearday and I rote a letter and put the money in it and seald it up I rote that norman king was not well he has got well sinc I rote the letter. well I want you to rite and let me no how you are a getting a long we hear rumers that we are a going to be moved from hear som says we are a going to nebraskey som to texes and som to Saint louis and som says we will stay hear and wintter at fourt Wimon so I cant tell you more than that /
the wether is cool and cloudey at this time and the blows hard and cool tho we are meney milds a part while I lay in my tent on som boards I lay thinking of the days that we onts in joyed each others presants and se our littel children and hear thare foot steps and se them and hear thare sweet voises Oh, but now we are deprived of that hapiness at this time and we may never see each other face to face Let us liv more in the dutey of god then we ever hav lived and more prairful and try to meet Our father and Mothers and brothers and sisters and friends O let us try to meet / in heven wheare wee will never part wee will be don with the trubels of this world no parting no ware Oh we then can meet to part no more
tell the children that I send my lov to them and tell them houdey for mee and recive a good shear your self tell all the nabors that are all tolerbel well and are redey to help Jim lane kill the rebels so that we can get to come home to live with our fameleys So I will close fare well rite soon
