Dear Wife I gladly take my pen in hand to ansor your letter of the 10th which I red and was glad to hear from you and the children I am sory to hear of you a bing sick I hope you are well by this time
 
well you spoke of you having so mutch truble I hav thought for a long time you had somthing on your mind and I beleav that I no hoo it is that has bin a trubling you but I will wate with pashients untill I get home and then I will make things look different to som one and it may be that I will get in truble my self tho my back is tolerble stout and broad and able to stand the test I hav bin shure / you hav bin trubld every since last wintter I told you what wold be the consequence if a serten thing ever took place and I will make my words true I think I onder stand that tho I may be rong but wate till I come home my time is out to morrow weeke 8 days more will be three year and one month for me and I think that is a nuff for me to do for Oncle Sam for a while keep in good hart for if I live and hav good luck I will be at home before long this leavs me well and I hope will find you all well and doing well tell the children I send my lov to them and to you also so fare well you will not hav time to rite to me eney more till I will be at home with you so fare well till I see you                        J.
