My Dear wife I one more time take my pen in hand to in forme you that I am well at this time and I truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you all well and doing well I rote a letter and sent it by Wm Hampshier and I sent a wod rasp also by him too you and I want you to rite whether you hav got them or not. Rittey Ann we are a going a way from hear we are oarderd to Benton barax we dont now whear we will go from thare we hav to start / in the morning
 
I dont no whether I will ever get to see your faces faces eney more in this flesh I hav a hope that I will meete you in heven where we will never parte O you dont now my destress but my desier and prair to god that we may make our way to heven
 
I want you to giv them sweete littel children a kiss for me and tell them to be good and learn thare books I must now close write soon fare well
