My Dear Rittey Ann it is with pleasure that I rite to you to day to let you no that I am well only a bad cold I think in a fiew days I will be rite a gane and I truley hope when those lins reach you tha will find you all well and doing well well Rittey Ann I hav not rote to you for severel days I thought every day since my time was out I wold be at home in a day or too and week before last I rote to you and I rote for you to ansor my letter I hav not got the ansor yet and I look every male I think I will get it in a day or too I hav bin a watting for my Descriptive role or the Redgiment to com to St Louis to be musterd out I rote to you all that I no of them and if / you hav heard from them let me no for I am oneasy and tierd of wating for them I rote to generel Rosencrans all a bout my case and hav no ansor yet and I dont no how long I will hav to stay hear I may hav to stay a month yet I hope not for if ever I was home sick now is the time tho that is nonsence to talk I no my fate I am a soldier and I hav to obay my superiors and I cant get home till tha get redey to send me it has bin over twelv months since I saw your face but I hav bin with you and the children a grate many times in my slumber the first on my mind when I a woke and the last at nite when I was convercing my mind while laying on my bed at nite the sun shoins nice this eavning and the plesant breze tosing the bright waves of the Missispey rivver and the steamers coming up the rivver with severel thousan men / to capture the notorious Garillers Old price and his band I hope he will be gobbeld up and his hole crue tha are fitting our men at Jefferson Cittey Mo tho you get the nuse all the time if you hant taking the democrat send for it rite a way well Rittey Ann I am a linconite I voted for him and fought for him and hav served better then thirtey seven months and I am still for him and if I hav eney McClellan nabors I cant nabor with them for I just as soon vote for Jeff Davis as for McClellan and every man that vots for him is a trater to his Countery and the Goverment which we now live onder I will try to vote hear for governer I cant vote for price he is a noted rebel he is a cosen to Sterling price as long as I live I am for the / lincon plat forme
