My Dear Wife i am blest with the privolig of a dressing you a fiew lins to let you that i am well at presant and i truley hope those fiew lins will find you and the children well and doing well I recived your cind letter which i was glad to se and read from you and the children it was dated the 2 day of this month i rote one letter to you the day before yestearday and i had rote one a fiew days before that i rote one to pap this morning and to father i hav not heard from him for som time he was vary porley the last time i heard from him /

 

I have nothing strang to rite at this time helth is tolerbel good the boys is goan to a dance to nite but a fiew Charls Sturte is with me i think when maried men gose to parties or danses i think tha had better think tha hav a wife at home and let the girls a lone and not be all wase after woman i dont tell nancey but you may guess dont say eney thing a bout what i rite to you tha go thare own way tha hav to ansor for thare one sins and me for mine tho i think that a man is a poore / thing when he lets the girls take thare sences a way from them when we hav young men that has som sence and lets them danses and girls a lone dont say eney thing a bout what i rite to you and i will after while giv you som of the petickulars so a nuff on that i for got, Wisley Wilkson braut that letter to me i want you to not get out of hart i still liv in hopes that i will get home to liv with you and help you rase them sweete little children i hav no ide of getting home for a long time / but oh you dont no hoow bad i want to see you and the children no tung cold exspress my feelings i want to se you and i think i cold tell you things that you never dremp of in your life

 

So a nuff on that i must now close for this time rite soon and oftan excuse my scrabling for it is in the nite all is quiet to nite fare well
