Dear Rittey Ann I take my pen in hand to ansor your letter which came to hand this morning I red with pleasure I was glad to hear that you was all well and a doing well I was sorry to hear that the hogs was disstroing your corne but do do the best you can I will com home as soon as I can I cant get a furlo and if I cold I wold hav to come back in a fiew days and I think I had better wate till my time is out and then I can come home to stay with you I rote a letter to you yestearday morning if I nead eney more money then the five dollars you sent me I will let you no I traded som rings and got som money I hav the rise of ten dollars / with the five you sent me My Descriptiv list has not come yet and I will hav to by som close I nead pants I will get too pare of Caveldrey pants tha are better then Infentrey pants one pare of them will last a man a year one of the men that is hear says he has wore a pare of them twelve months and tha are good pants yet tha are made duble the back part the seat and the back part of the ledgs tha will cost som more then Infentrey pants tha are the best I ever seen yet I will get me too pare of them I think my eys is a bout the same as tha was yestearday I hav took som coald and tha are not as well as tha hav bin I am as well as I hav bin since I left home last fall only my eys and I am a getting fat to what I was when I came hear / when I came hear I cold not eat eney thing hardley and I lived on one peece of bread tosted and a cup of tea that was what I lived on for near a month and I got so weeke I cold hardley get up and down the stars tho I felt well the most of the time then I was put on fool diet and I am tolerble stout a gane I was put on lo diet at first how wold you like to eat tost and tea all the time for a month and but little of that let me tell you before I was put on full diet it seamd to me that I wold starve I hav plentey to eat now I help the cooks wash dishes and at nite I am the nite watch som times I am up till after too Oclock in the nite and then other nites I go to bed a bout a leven oclock it soots me vary well I dont sleep mutch I never get sleepey till late in the nite /
well keep in good hart and do the best you can if I hav good luck I will be at home before long tell Mr Sinks if he pleases not kill all of our hogs tell him that I say if I was at home I wold fix the fenses and keep them out but I cant come to tend to it and I will hav to trust to providenc and if I live to get home I will fix my fence tell him if I was at home and he was in the armey I wold fix the fence I will pay my part of the work and I wold try to do the best I cold for his fameley as well as my one so I must close
