Dear Rittey Ann it is with pleasure that i tak my pen in hand drop you a fiew lins in ansor to your letter that i recived this eavning which i red with pleasure glad to hearr from you and to hear that you was all well and doing well you said baulduin had bured out a part of my ground i think that it is apoore way to farm when a man has a good teem you said that som body had stoald John Hookers led you send or take the led to Mr Coopers as soon as you can and take / one peece of mine that smallest bar and put it in the plase of that now dont for get this send or take it without fale dont for get this
 
Our Capt has goan down to Pacific City to get our pay and i will send som to you as soon as i can
 
oh i want to se you and the Children if i was with you i cold see som pleasure but as i canot see you i will hav to close by saying i want you to remember mee in your prairs
