My Dear wife I take my pen in hand to adress you a fiew lins in ansur to you to your letter wich I was glad to read and to hear from you and the sweete littel Children and to hear that you and the Children was well and a doing as well as I cold exspect you to do I am truley glad that I am permitted to adress you I am well to nite and I truley hope when those fiew lins comes to hand tha will find you and the Children well and doing well I dont hav eney thing of mutch importenc to / write to you at this time our boys is in tolerbel good helth at this time
 
Now Rittey Ann I want you to take good cear of your self and the Children as you can and if I never se you eney more I want to teach the Children to serv the lord and I want us to pray for each other that for us that we may see each other face to and that we may liv together and rase our Children but if we are not permitted to se each other in this life let be prepaird to meete in a wirld of hapeness and peece for ever and forever thare we will not hav to part husban and wife and Children will not be / seperated now more thare no sickness no pane thare O let us ceepe this in our mind My Dear when this you se remember mee O my thouts I can not express I want to see you and the Children but I dont exspect to get to see you untill the ware is over or els our time expiers of our in list ment tho I dont think the war can last longer than till next somer tho I cannot tell I must now Close for this time write soon

            Robert Williams is hear and I exspect to send som things up to middelberg with him and if I do I will write what tha are he says he will start home day after to marrow the paroled boys is not com yet one lutenant has repoarted him self to the Regiment for dutey he says he is exchanged tha say we will go down thru Arcancis when we starte from hear
