            Rittey Ann you dont no how i wold like to se you and i wold like to eat som of your cooking and som milk with you and the Children and talk with you i think i cold giv you one good hug if i cold see you i can look back and think of the pleasure that we used to see with each other dont you no that i wold like to see you if i cold get to com home to stay with you we cold see a hapey time and my desier and my prairs to god that we may liv to se the time come when we can hav peece in our land and all go home and liv like brothers / I want to liv untill every Rebel is hung and dried or com back and be willing to fite onder the old Stars and Strips and hollow for old Abe Lincolon and for the presant administration a nuff on that
 
tell the Children that I send my respects and lov to them tell them that i want them to remember thare pap for i want them to do well tell them to learn thare books so that tha can read to me when i com home fare well for a while
