Dear Sister
yours of the 30 come to hand last eavening I was truly glad to hear from you and to hear that you was well and doing well and to hear that the neighbors was generally well well rity an you said that there was some there was something in your letter to John he got the letter first and tuck the that out and sent my part to me and kept the rest himself well rity an I have nothing of importance to write at this / time as for any hard fealings be tween me and John there is none that I now of and I dont aprehend any as for my part I dont care what tha write about me if tha write the truth but you will here lots of things that ant sow and for that reason it is best to not believe very much that one hears but anough on that for I dont now that any body has wrote any thing about me and nether do I care it is anough for me that while I with outhers brook the dangers of ware and the troubles and privations of a camp life / that there is some one that is interssted a bout my welfare and that while I pase up and doun my beat at night that there is some body that is imploring the blessing of all mity god to protect me and the wisdom of him that rules the skys to bring this war to a speady close so that we may all return home to our familys and friends I will close for this time by saying that this leaves me well and I hope tha may safely and in good time reach you and / you well and doing well write soon Direct to Rolla nomore I remain
