Camp Holbrook
Dear Wife,
I will write a few
lines in answer to yours of the
23rd and let you know that I am
well and hope these few lines
will find you the same We
have just been out on knap
sack inspection It would seem
like old times if we was out
South We expect to be mustered
in next Wensday Som say
that we are going to be disbanded
and sent home but I think
we shall go South in a short
time I had just as lives they
would send us home but dont
think they will I wish they
would so I can be with
you. I dont know whether they
will let me go up again or
not I should like to see you
before we leave here very
much , and shall if it is posibal
I will have an order filled out
and send you so you can
draw the State pay I think
you had better do so and you
may do what you think best
with it I have ben to church
this afternoon Should like
to have ben there and went
with you Dale gave me those
things you sent me Thank
you for them I think I shall
need them before we get going
I supose you have hu rd of
Mrs Moor death She died
about a week ago I dont
think of much more to rite
I shall try and go up and
see you the last of this
weak if I can if I cant
come some time
our boys are all smart
cant stop to rite much
more this time
